People Project: natural

Natural is People Project's second album which features a wide variety of guests that include: Yusa, The Souljazz Orchestra, Kobo Town and Rommel Ribeiro to name a few. A cursory tour across Natural’s 13 tracks reveals a wide-ranging degree of grooves identifying a true mélange of afro-Brazilian funk, reggae, hip-hop and african influences that include jazz and folk(loric) elements with lyrics sung in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. People Project is a proud recipient of the Ontario Arts Council's Popular Music Grant (2009).

People Project: People Project

People Project's self-titled debut embodies the magic of spontaneous intercultural exchange. Written and recorded in Mexico City over the course of a mere few weeks, the album marks the group's first attempt at a cross-cultural collaboration and mash-up of genres, musical influences, and languages. Embracing many folkloric elements of Latin American roots music, with lyrics in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, this album is marked by the use of percussion only, acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments making it a true mix of folk and funk.
